Drain Log: from paper readings to a digital record

Created by Charles Dalesch · Creative AI Solutions LLC · Published October 28, 2026

Drain Log is a web application for recording surgical-drain readings, viewing automatic daily totals, and preparing a report for a care team.

The need

Paper worksheets leave patients to organize readings and calculate totals by hand. Drain Log grew from a real family experience with that process and the need for a clear record to bring to care-team conversations.

What the product provides

  • Separate readings for each configured drain.
  • Automatic daily totals and a history view with editable readings.
  • Readings saved in the user’s browser, with JSON backup and restore.
  • After staff approval, report previews and a choice to email a PDF to the approving staff member.

The application puts recording, reviewing, and preparing a report in one workflow. The user chooses when to share a report. Tracking does not require a patient account or payment card.

A service website with a clear inquiry workflow

Project: Creative AI Solutions LLC website ยท Published October 28, 2026

The business need

Visitors need to understand which service fits their problem, what an engagement could include, and what information to provide. An inquiry also needs to reach the business without exposing email-service credentials in the browser.

What we delivered

The site uses four dedicated service pages for AI training, AI integration, Azure maintenance, and cloud assessments. Each explains the audience, deliverables, preparation, scope, and common questions. The same pages remain readable without JavaScript.

The inquiry form submits to a server-side handler. That handler validates the fields, limits message size, and fixes the business recipient on the server. It uses an email delivery service while keeping the service credential out of the public page. Success and error states help visitors understand whether the submission was accepted.

Native question disclosures, keyboard focus styles, responsive layouts, and self-hosted assets support the browsing experience. Page titles, canonical links, structured service information, and a sitemap describe the public content to search tools.

What can be verified

  • Four detailed service pages are linked from the website.
  • Questions and answers appear as readable page content, with matching structured data.
  • The inquiry handler validates inputs and uses a fixed sender and business recipient.
  • Automated contact checks exercise accepted and rejected submissions with simulated provider responses.

Results and limits

The delivered result is a working service website and an inquiry workflow with explicit validation and feedback. The automated checks use simulated email-provider responses and send no live mail. A provider acceptance response by itself does not prove inbox delivery.

This case study does not claim a measured increase in sales, search rankings, AI citations, or customer productivity. Those outcomes require separate measurement over time. It describes our own project and makes no claim of an outside customer endorsement.
